Cozumel Chef Tour
COZUMEL, QUINTANA ROO, MEXICO
When cruising the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, there is nothing like Mexican cuisine, so one of the best experiences you can take in, is the Cozumel Chef Tour. Your tastebuds will thank you enormously! The cuisine you will sample on the tour is a yummy blend of Mayan and Aztec with some European flavors (mainly Spanish). The dishes are from the Yucatan region and range from local street fare to regional feast. Cozumel Chef can also arrange specialized tours where you can specifically request seafood, seasonal dishes, etc. |
Tour includes a visit to El Mercado which is a traditional market where you can explore local seasonings and produce and goods. You’ll sample a favorite Latin American snack, authentic Mexican quesadillas along with a real Mexican cola or Jamaican water. There will also be a feast on a home cooked style meal at a local restaurant. You should come on an empty stomach because you won’t go back to your cruise ship hungry.
Chef Emily is the head chef, but she is originally a native New Jersian. Chef Emily is a classically trained French Chef and did not know when she started out she would end up cooking for the people on the island of Cozumel. She learned quick as she poured over cookbooks, watched videos, and more. She started out as a private chef service on Cozumel but her popularity quickly grew. She is an award winning chef who now offers highly rated tours, private chef services and grocery shopping along with highly recommended cooking classes.
The business has grown and now has three locations you can visit during your Yucatan cruise to Cozumel, or while cruising Tulum or Playa del Carmen. Along with Chef Emily, Gerardo works with her as the Lead Guide. He was born and raised in Mexico City. Pavel & Isa are also chefs at the Playa del Carmen location. They met in culinary school in Mexico City and have fused together not only in the kitchen, but as a couple as well. Josefina is the Chef instructor who has lived on Cozumel for 31 years and has taught cooking classes since 2008. Xantal is also a Lead Guide as well. Josefina comes from the Pacific Coast of Mexico and works at the Playa del Carmen location. Fernando is also a chef at the Cozumel location and he handles the vacation rentals as well. He hails from Mexico City and has a fusion of French, Italian, and Mexican influences.
